In facts, this exhibition has been scheduled as of June 24, 2017 to July 3 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel 4th Floor located in Chavy Chase Pavillion, Washington D.C.

The main theme of the exhibition was celebrating the blood coliation between United States and South Korea in terms of congratulating the first official visit of President Moon Jae-In of Korea based on the exact exhibition of Artist Sun Woo Young and Chung , Chang Mo who is representative of North Korean Landscape Painting history.

However, the exhibition is being delayed until now due to the sudden sorrowful death of Mr. Otto Wimbier at that time who just came back from North Korea.

There was pne more significant reason; at this exhibition, the first official discloseure of Mary Todd Lincoln with Her Sibilings has been set up. This great historical art piece had depicted by William Henry Powell who hang on his another legendary masterpiece titled,
“Discovery of the Mississippi by De Soto A.D. 1541” on the Senate Capitol Hill Building. When we see the painting, We can feel like we’re going back to a high class family in 1840 s when Todd and her siblings are young child. This is most earlier childhood real figures of Todd Family. Because the painting commissioned by President Abraham Lincoln as a comporting will for his wife Mary Todd when they lost their beloved son, “Willie.”

For instance, their deep sorrow has been still appeared on the public by  Lincoln in the Bardo is a 2017 experimental novel by American writer George Saunders. The story takes place during and after the death of Abraham Lincoln's son William "Willie" Wallace Lincoln and deals with the president's grief at his loss.

Because this particular reason, regretfully the exhibition was cancelled by the wrath of American ordinary people about the death of Otto Warmbier. As a farther of the same University of Virginia Allumnai, the planner of the exhibition had been stands at the graduation ceremony  at UVA Campus on May, 2017 that Mr. Otto Warmbier had to participated in.

Now one year passed. Surprsingly and dramtically the surrondings of the Korean Peninsulas particurlary the relationship between the North Korea and United States has been changed so that we now confronted at the very critical moment for peaceful march we seeking and waiting for over 70 years since the tradgic Korean War took place in July 25, 1953.

It is more sensational moment because the beautiful art museum gallery of the exhibition is stands on the almost same location that the greatest King  Sejong(1397-1450) of Chosun Dynasty buried. The King Sejong created the Korean language, “Hangul” for the ordinary people of Korea long time ago.

Artist Jang Woo Sung represented the traditional Korean landscape and portrait painting in Korea between 1960s to 2005. Among his famous paintings, the portrait of General Lee Sun Sin and Ms. Yoo Kwan Soon(a female hero who started 3.1 movement against Japanese Imperial Era in 1919).

Sun Woo Young and Jeong Chang Mo famously represents the North Korean Art Painting of Korea and Its Characteristics. Artist Sun Woo Young left his last legendary painting, titled, “Korean Tiger” in terms of distinguished paitning skills based on the realism. On the other way, Jeong Chang Mo naturally using India ink painting so called “Pa Mook.” It is a brush-splitting technique used for emphasizing strength and for expressing special qualities of many objects in a clver and witty way as dropping the ink. We see this type from one of great Abstract Expression Artist Jasper Johns in America.

We believe Art can overcoming the edge of people to people and nation to nation. In this sense, these artists who is shown on this exhibition are the same root who borned, nurthered and grew up at the same soil, namely the land of Korean Peninsula.

That unforgettable tradition are transiting and succeeding to the next gerneration at the art filed such a young female installation artist Park Eun Ji. Her theme of art says it all meaing we’re comes from one origin.

Jae Woo Cha, a representative of the Korean Peninsula Cultural Foundation located in Fairfax, Virginia.
